“Equinox” is a monotype hybrid print with chine colle. It is my interpretation of the cliff wall of petroglyphs at V-Bar-V Heritage Site in Verde Valley, Arizona. I created this print with silk paper chine colle and colored pencil over my monotype print after visiting the site with a Hopi friend and hearing his interpretation of the petroglyphs and his explanation of his ancestors’ awareness of the fissure which only lets the sun shine through at the time of the equinox.
